Retailer Categories

 

Entry Criteria:

All entries should relate to the past year of trading, ie from Jan 2018 to Jan 2019. All entries must be completed online by midnight on Friday, March 1 2019. Retailers may enter as many categories as they wish.

 

If categories subsequently need to be split to recognise different types of retail and entry levels, this will be done in discussion with the judges once all entries have been received.

 

Following the judging a list of finalists will be released in February, with the winners being announced at the Awards Evening on Tuesday 30 April.

 

This year’s judges will include: Jack Straw, MD of Brown Trout Publishers, Gemma Bassett, Marketing Manager of Sinclairs, Jane Reucroft and Chloe Bayles from A Gift From The Gods, Chris Stott, MD of Pukka Pads, Kerri Middleton, MD of Busy B, Rebecca Saunders, Independent Retail and ECommerce Consultant and George Wilkinson, MD of Nuco International, with more names to be confirmed shortly.

Best Customer Experience Initiative (instore or online)

This award will recognise an initiative to promote customer engagement – either an instore or online event which was designed to encourage customer participation or feedback. Evidence of the number of people taking part and responding will be required and remember, some photos or images will really help our judges visualise your initiative.


Criteria: Open to all retailers selling stationery.

Best POS/Merchandised Display of Stationery

A stationery product launch or promotion, Back to School, Christmas stationery gift ideas, National Stationery Week, World Calligraphy Day – whatever your store/s celebrated, share your window/ instore/ online displays that demonstrate how you maximised the visual impact of the offer and got customers buying! Remember to upload some photos or images as these will really help our judges see what you achieved.


Criteria: Open to all retailers selling stationery

New Store of the Year

Welcome to the world of stationery! If you have opened a store selling stationery as your primary or secondary offer in the past year, then say hello and enjoy the blast of recognition and product offers that come your way.

Plus - calling all stationery agents and account managers - if you have a favourite new store then put forward their details and help to get them on the Stationery map!

 

Try to remember to grab some photos of the store - inside and out - and upload these with your entry they will really help our judges see what you've achieved.


Criteria: Open to retailers who have launched a new stationery offer since January 2018.

Best Specialist Stationery Retailer

Entries to this category should demonstrate excellence in areas across the retail spectrum including product knowledge and range, staff training, marketing, promotion, display and achievements in improving profitability, sales and/or footfall in the past trading year. Be bold and pleased with what you achieved and why - it's time to show the world just how good you are! Or if you're just too shy, ask your biggest fan, a friendly agent or account manager to nominate you...

So, calling all stationery agents and account managers.... if you have a customer who you feel should be acknowledged in this category then put forward their details for the judges to consider.

Remember to upload some photos/images of the business to include with your entry - these will really help the judges understand the business offer.


Criteria: Open to all specialist stationery retailers.

Best Non-Specialist Retailer

Entries to this category should demonstrate excellence in areas across the retail spectrum including product knowledge and range, staff training, marketing, promotion, display and achievements in improving profitability, sales and/or footfall in the past trading year. It's time to share your success and be proud of what you have achieved! Or, if you're just too shy, ask your favourite account manager or agent to nominate you...

So, calling all stationery agents and account managers.... if you have a customer who you feel should be acknowledged in this category then put forward their details for the judges to consider.

Criteria: Open to retailers who stock stationery as part of their offer.
